We are also excited to see Adam Hughes who will be joining a a great line up of artists as well as a cast of celebs including Charisma Carpenter, Adam West, Daniel Cudmore, and Sean Patrick Flanery! Fun stuff for sure!

And of course the cast of The Variants will be there promoting their web series & hopefully be free to give us a short but always fun interview!  Bring a dollar as Ken and Joe will be doing commissions!

Fin Fang Foom

image from Marvel Universe

Fin Fang Foom is our Mutant of the Week and by mutant, I do mean monstrous helldragon from space! Popping up in the strangest places, it’s appropriate that he(she/it/sheit?) first came on the scene in Strange Tales #81. Originally hailing from the planet Maklu IV, Fin Fang Foom has caused destruction and mayhem whenever he manages to wake up from his drug-induced periods (heyoooo) of hibernation. He can fly at supersonic speeds, spew acid-mist-breath, communicate telepathically and take a beating like a super-durable 32′ dragon-monster.

You’ll find Foom these days a reformed Buddhist, attempting to live a regular, human life. For the craziness and for the acid-breath, Fin Fang Foom is our villainous Mutant of the Week.

MaD’s triple H: Kerry Washington

Our MAD Hottie of the week is a friend to the GLBT community, has portrayed a lesbian business woman and a transsexual.  I am talking about none other then the beautiful Kerry Washington.

Photo: Giant Magazine

You might recognize her from such films as Ray, Save the Last Dance, She Hates Me and Life is Hot in Cracktown.  She has two comic book roles under her belt, first as Ben Grimm’s love interest Alicia Masters in Fantastic Four.  The second being lending her voice as Princess Shuri in the Black Panther Animated Series.
Not only is Kerry Washington gorgeous but a talented actress who is very versatile in her performances.  This is why she is the Mad Hottie of the Week!

Getting Animated with X-Men Vol. 5!

Disney will be releasing the final volume of X-Men: The Animated Series on DVD in 2010.

The awesome artist David Nakayama has released amazing cover art, and has given a prediction that we will see volume 5 in stores around March 3rd.  He also stated he had something around the same lines cookin, which makes me very excited.  If I had to guess this could mean we might be seeing Spider-Man: The Animated Series on DVD.

Arachni-4-bia

sony pictures

Spider-Man 4 is a no go, instead Sony Pictures is talking about rebooting the franchise!  With the series starting over this means new cast, director, story, etc.

I personally am glad they did not make a fourth fim.  It seemed like it could have been a hot mess.  The best thing about the series ending is no more Kisten krusty Dunst as Mary Jane Watson! Give that girl some crest white strips and a re-alignment [down there].

If the reboot DOES happen, I think they have their work cut out for them.  They are going to have to make an amazing film to get people to the theaters.  So if Spider-Man makes his way to the big screen any time soon, let’s just hope it’s pretty awesome!

Lookin’ Lively: Green Lantern

The role of Green Lantern’s boss and love interest Carol Ferris, has been filled, by the Gossip Girl star Blake Lively.

This should be interesting to see Livley take on such a huge role.  If the movie does well maybe we will get to see her as the villain Star Sapphire in a sequel.

Rumor has it Kerri Russell was up for the role who I actually could have seen play Ferris.
Blake Lively is definitely not who I pictured filling this role but hey you never know she could be amazing as Carol Ferris.

Wizard World; Austin

The Comicon thrown by the popular comic magazine Wizard is coming back to Texas! Although they will not be returning to Dallas where it has been in the past they are instead going to be holding the event in Austin.

The Comicon will be held at the Austin Convention Center November 12-14, 2010. No guests have been announced for this location but there are sure to be artists and celebrities galore. I am personally hoping for Eliza Dushku since she is attending the one in Anaheim. For more information check out WIZARD WORLD.
