Heroes Screen Cap; NBC

If you haven’t been keeping up with NBC’s Heroes then it’s time to jump on that metahuman band wagon! This season there are so many great story lines, but the most interesting to us here at MaD is the Is she or isn’t She? plot surrounding Claire Bennet’s sexuality. We smell a lez-bot, and are excited about the possibility. Do you think Miss Bennet is a shoe-in for scissoring?

Wonder..um...yeah..no.

Yeah, yeah she’s nom-noms and she looks good in that suit but she needs to gain some muscle and maybe spend a weekend at Lilith Faire before she jumps on the beating-the-SHY-NOLA-outta-Ares bandwagon! In her defense, she would be a lot better than the talk of having BEYONCE’ play her. I mean…seriously, Beo-wolf-oncé. I’m thinking no.

Back in 2005 Whedon signed on to write and direct the live action movie. But it’s about to be 2009, apparently there were some issues and junk and stuff. There are also talks that the script isn’t entirely dead. We’ll see what happens.

So who is that smokin’ hot mama you see before you?  The most scrumptious scooby, the most sapphic of Sunnydale’s students?

If you didn’t instantly recognize Willow Rosenberg then you need an emergency re-education!

This fiery redhead began her high school career as a shy yet studious bookworm.  An apt student in any field, she was always safely outcast with the nerds and the dweebs.

Until one fateful day when Buffy Summers entered the scene and changed Sunnydale forever!

( And with that much dye in their hair, who ISN’T going to change Sunnydale forever?  I mean, judging from the amount of showers Buffy had to have taken during the show, I’m surprised the water supply isn’t completely yellow by the end of season one.)

Willow became a part of the gang, fighting the forces of darkness alongside Buffy, Xander, Giles and a host of supporting characters.

Along the way, our heroine discovers the only werewolf with a band, a penchant for magick (both dark & light) and a beautiful les-beam named Tara Maclay.  She continues to have girlfriends (some girl named Kennedy, whatever) and her study of magick never ceases but her time with Tara truly rocked the world (and my heartstrings).

You could argue that the Wicca shown in popular culture (I’m looking at you Charmed) does much to harm general perceptions of neo-pagan religions; giving untrue expectations of magick and nature-based religion probably ends up hurting the pagan cause more than helping.

But really, fuck that noise.  A good TV show is hard to find!  And who doesn’t totally crap their pants when Willow FLAYS A MAN ALIVE in ‘Villains’?!  And using magick as a metaphor for substance abuse?  Mr. Whedon, I love your brain.

There’s no use arguing with me about the greatest character of all time.  Sherlock Holmes?  Yawn, where’s the lesbian sex?  Captain Nemo?  PUH-lease.  No one does revenge like Willow.

Batman?  Superman?  Ms. Rosenberg could beat them with both hands tied behind her back AND a smile on her face!

From the scared young girl we first meet in ‘Welcome to the Hellmouth’ to the powerful and steady woman in the Buffy Season Eight comics, there’s just no denying that Willow Rosenberg is the ultimate power behind the Slayer throne.

And who else could rock a Ren Faire dress in the middle of a Californian summer?!

This Female Crimefighter is a triple threat.

1. She’s a Red Head, POW!

2. She’s Jewish, OY ZING!

3. She’s a lesbian, SMACK!

The original Batwoman was created as a love interest for Batman to knock down the allegations that Batman and Robin were fucking gay.  She constantly had to be rescued by Batman and her weapons were disguised as cosmetics dildos and jewelry. This character was later killed off in Detective Comics #485 and her existance is erased due to the first crisis.

Katherine (Kate) Kane comes from as wealthy and prestigious a family as Bruce Wayne and whatever he does not own the Kane family does.  She is a lipstick-ish lesbian and made her first appearance in the pages of the mini series 52.  She not only keeps her identity a secret but her non stop pussy pounding sexuality a secret as well. YEOWWZA!

Batwoman operated as Gotham’s protector while Batman, Robin and Nightwing were MIA (no, not the singer) after the most recent crisis.  In 52 you learn that she has an on-and-off-again realtionship with the kick-ass cop Detective Montoya ( y’all might remember her from the animated series). She “assisted” Montoya in solving a mystery involving the use of one of the Kane family’s warehouses.  Montoya is not the only one that favors Kate, Nightwing has a crush on her as well and even welcomes her into the bat family by giving her an official orgaszm batarang.  You can currently see her in Final Crisis: Revelations #3.

I think Batwoman is a great representation for the GLBT community.  I hope that eventually she gets her own series, that would be a huge break through for D.C.!!!  I give D.C. props for giving some diversity to their comics but I’m still waiting for a high profile gay male character! All the gay men are minor side characters or lesser known villians.
