Rugged & Winged!
Michael Shanks of Star Gate SG-1 fame is not a name you hear everyday. Hell honestly I had never heard of him before. My love of Star Gate ended in 1994 exactly 121 minutes after it started and I never got into the individual cable series.
However Mr. Shanks has one thing I want [in bed] and that’s a mace! Spikes and all, Shanks plays Hawk Man [Carter Hall] on the CW’s Smallville. I thought Mutant a Day was over due for some gratuitous rugged Hawk Man photos! Enjoy!

MaD’s Triple H: Kristen Bell
Who was voted worlds sexiest Vegetarian in 2006? Kristen Bell of Course! Before Bell landed her break out role on Veronica Mars she actually auditioned for the part of Chloe on Smallville, which of course Allison Mack portrays. After Veronica Mars ended she took on the role of the electrifying Elle on Heroes. Bell has creeped into our geeky hearts starring in Fan Boys and is currently the voice of Cora in Astro Boy.

She not only is friend to the comic world she also has many charitable causes she supports. She is very involved in the organization Invisible Children Inc. which helps raise awareness about Northern Ugandans caught in the middle of a civil war. Kristen Bell is a friend to the animals and the GLBT community, all of which makes her MaD’s hottie of the week!

MaD’s Triple H: Callum Blue
Tall, dark and handsome and British, Callum Blue is our Hellion of the week. From playing reaper, Mason on Dead Like Me to Sir Anthony Knivert on Showtime’s The Tudors, Blue has made his way to the D.C. universe as Clark’s nemesis, Zod in the CW’s Smallville. Now only if we could make our way onto that set!

Iceman & Jimmy…Happy Birthday!
So yesterday, thanks to the comic world’s cutest twins, Aaron & Shawn Ashmore, was the merging of the DC and Marvel Universe INTO ONE BLOG!!! Why, you ask? It’s because yesterday was their birthday! (they are 21 29)
Aaron, Smallville’s Jimmy Olsen & Shawn, X-Men’s Bobby Drake (a.k.a. Iceman) are two Canadians that add so much to the live-action versions of their print counterparts. I’d say (and I think many would agree) that in a world where Bryan Singer casts Halle Berry as Storm, someone else would take the lead (um, whoever that may have been) and cast Shawn as Iceman, which is more than a perfect fit!
So this Happy Belated Birthday goes out to Shawn & Aaron. Enjoy the pics!
