You guys, I can’t even be mad at Marvel’s updated comics catalog because these DC covers this month continue to keep me in a tantric state of happiness. Brightest Day 18 starts us off with Captain Boomerang’s epically stupid choice to free Zoom, seeking answers as to why he’ll be throwing his boomerang at Dawn. The Hawks seem to be reactivating something on Zamaron as well in their mini-war as Brightest Day starts winding down. So many loose ends seem to be dangling here, I’ll be mighty curious to see how the creative team gets all these stories told.
Green Lantern Corps 56 pits new Qward against the old! As the battle between the Sinestro Corps and the Weaponer comes to a head, the Green Corps finds itself caught in the crossfire once again. Breaking their truce with Sinestro could have devastating consequences. Firestorm makes a mystery appearance, tying the events of Brightest Day closer to the title.
JLA 53 concludes the Omega storyline and the inaugural crisis for Robinson’s JLA. It’s been a mixed bag so far but I feel confident in my optimism for the future of the title. These are some excellent and often under appreciated characters and I can’t wait to see what the Eclipso storyline brings! This issue wraps up the Crime Syndicate, the Omega Man and hopefully returns Washington, D.C. to normal…no small feat.
