It Rains, It Pours

Birds of Prey 10 is the conclusion to The Death of Oracle! A huge cast is promised but is Barbara Gordon really and truly gone? A must-read!

(Cover by Michael Allred, Vertigo Comics)

I,Zombie 11 puts Gwen face-to-face with her childhood, Ellie acquainting herself with Spot’s grandfather, Galatea and Amon gettin’ frisky and the monster hunters and monster hunted making nice.

(Cover by Freddie Williams II, DC Comics)

JSA All-Stars 16 concludes The Puzzle Men arc and this title is headed to the cancellation stack in just two more issues. Plenty of fun to be had in the mean time, Arthur Pemberton is basically a jerk with a heart of gold?

(Cover by Dustin Nguyen, DC Comics)

Generation Lost 21 could very well prove that Jaime has died but in either case, Booster is heartbroken once again as Max Lord frantically searches for the Wonder Woman the world forgot. Insanity but still gold!

(Cover by Philip Tan, DC Comics)

The Outsiders 37 is part two of The Reign of Doomsday and The Eradicator is next on the Big Bad’s checklist! I’m curious where this takes me but I enjoyed Steel enough to check this issue out as well.

Superboy 5 is the first ever Kid Flash/Superboy race! Man, you would have thought we’d have seen that by now, right? Anyways, the race is on and the shadowy menace facing Smallville continues to slooooowly reveal itself in full.

(Cover by Fabrizio Fiorentino, DC Comics)

Titans 33 means I am still buying this book? The Isis story has me hooked, sorry, y’all! Cheshire and Roy betray Slade on an island where Drago is holding gladiatorial fights. Please, please let the Shazam! family story take off into its own book! It’s really not terrible just not my usual kind of story.

(Cover by Joe Quesada, Danny Miki, Paulo Siqueira & Morry Hollowell, Marvel Comics)

Venom 1…AMERICA FUCK YEAH! Flash Thompson is the new host for Venom and he’s working for the government! My boyfriend and I are pretty interested in the concept but are only really familiar with the Ultimate universe version. All signs point to a good comic!

(Cover by Don Kramer & Jay Leisten, DC Comics)

Wonder Woman 608 brings the aftermath of the slaughter of the Amazons at the safe-house to Diana and Cheetah and Silver Swan are hellbent on driving her mad and out into the world. I hope the Morrigan’s plan doesn’t succeed but there’s no faster way to make a princess go Dark-Willow than to decimate her people. Phil Hester is making this happen in a real way, everyone.

(Cover by Leinil Francis Yu, Marvel Comics)

X-Men Legacy 246 sets Legacy-Reaper-Rogue on the lam from her fellow mutants while this reality’s evil Avengers come to hunt her down! Plenty of nitty-gritty fun three (counting Alpha) in and I’m expecting more of the same!

(Cover by Stephane Roux, DC Comics)

Did you know Paul Dini married Zatanna? Because he basically did. Which I totally approve of, those two are adorable together! Anyways, Zatanna 10 continues Pupaphobia with the once-murderous puppet being granted access to Shadowcrest! Will Zee manage to undo her father’s spell and set things right? Is it right at all? We’ll see but this is still a solid series that makes it happen every issue!
